Description
Tarsal splint for dogs made to measure
What is it indicated for?
Our splint is indicated for the treatment of tendon and ligament injuries or for post-surgical stabilization of the tarsus (hind leg) of dogs and cats.
It is easy to put on and take off, allowing a constant control of the animal’s evolution. It allows contact with the ground since it only immobilizes the tarsal joint.
Remember that if your dog only needs to have the lower part of the limb immobilized, a short boot splint is recommended.
Immobilize
In cases of tendon or ligament injuries of the tarsal joint of our pet.
Corrects
When there are neurological problems or deformities in the hind limb.
Stabilize
In post-surgical rehabilitation treatments for your dog or cat.

How do I take the measurements?
Width
With your pet’s hind leg straight and supported, measure the widest part of the tarsus (just above the paw pads) using a rigid or flexible measuring tape, keeping it parallel to the ground and without compressing the fur.
Measurement A: Length
Measure from the tarsus downwards, stopping before the splint would restrict the flexion of the paw joint. Do not go beyond the pads or toes to avoid affecting your dog’s natural movement and comfort.
Measure B: height
Measure the distance from the most prominent point of the tarsus (hock) to the midpoint between the tarsus and the knee, ensuring that the splint will not interfere with movement or rub against the back of the knee. Take this measurement while your dog is standing and bearing weight for an accurate result.
